Adam Sandler is an American actor, comedian, and producer best known for his quirky comedic acting style.

Sandler was raised in Manchester, New Hampshire with three older siblings. He began making television appearances in the late 1980s including parts as "Smitty" on The Cosby Show. He also performed on the MTV game show Remote Control.

Sandler was discovered after he began working in comedy clubs by comedian Dennis Miller. He was recommended to Saturday Night Live and soon hired as a writer for the show. He left the show in 1995 to focus on an acting career.

Sandler's first starring film role was Billy Madison. Following was Happy Gilmore and Wedding Singer. After The Waterboy in 1998, Sandler became a box-office star. Audiences have since remained faithful to his slapstick humor, which has grossed over $100 million. Recently, Sandler has moved away from comedy roles into more serious parts such as Punch-Drunk Love, and Spanglish.

Sandler is being considered for the role of The Joker in the Batman Begins Sequel - a role that will be dark, sadistic, and sinister.

Sandler married Jackie Titone, whom he met on the set of Big Daddy. The couple have one child, Sadie Madison Titone-Sandler, born May 6, 2006.
