Alec Baldwin is an actor, and the best known of the Baldwin brothers.

Baldwin has three brothers who are also actors: Daniel, Stephen, and William Baldwin. His sisters are Jane and Elizabeth. His debut film role was in She's Having a Baby. The same year he had roles in Beetlejuice and Working Girl.

In the late 1990s, Baldwin earned critical praise for his roles in thrillers including, The Edge and The Juror. in 2005 he appeared in a concert version of Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific at Carnegie Hall.

Baldwin is a liberal Democrat who has always had an active interest in politics. He is rumored a candidate for public office. He recently called Dick Cheney a "terrorist," claiming that "he terrorizes our enemies abroad and innocent citizens here at home indiscriminately." He labels President Bush as a "trust fund puppet."

Baldwin married Kim Basinger on August 19, 1993. The couple divorced in January 2001, which resulted in a bitter custody battle over their daughter, Ireland Eliesse Baldwin; their were allegation of Baldwin being an abusive husband with anger problems. He spent over one million dollars in this fight. More recently Baldwin has dated actresses Kristin Davis and Tatum O'Neal.
