Ben Still Here

Ben Stiller is best known for his comedic roles in films Meet the Parents, and There's Something About Mary.

Stiller is the son of Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara; both are veteran comedians and actors. He has an older sister, Amy Stiller, who is also an actress.

In 1989, at the start of his career, he appeared on Saturday Night Live as a featured performer, and wrote many of his skits. He began making short comedy films in the early 1990s; he hosted and performed a self-titled comedy sketch show on MTV, then The Ben Stiller Show, which aired on Fox Network in 1992. However, the show only lasted for 12 episodes, but continues to carry a reputation for being one of the best sketch comedy vehicles on television. The show also helped start the careers of Andy Dick, Janeane Garofalo, and Bob Odenkirk.

Stiller is also known for his directing abilities. He directed both Reality Bites and The Cable Guy. More recently, in 2001, he directed Zoolander, which was very well received.

According to self-help book, Feel This Book, which he co-authored with Janeane Garofalo, he and Garofalo dated for a short period. He was involved with Jeanne Tripplehorn during most of the 1990s. In May 2000, Stiller married actress Christine Taylor. The two met while a filming a for television pilot Heat Vision and Jack, which was never broadcast. The couple have one daughter, Ella Olivia (April 10, 2002), and one son, Quinlin Dempsey (July 10, 2005).

Stiller has bipolar disorder. During the making of Zoolander, Stiller let off unexplained changes of mood. He was quoted saying "I have not been an easygoing guy. I think it's called bipolar manic depression. I've got a rich history of that in my family." Stiller is left-handed.
