She appears to be a very charming,intelligent and nice looking lady. She has a wonderful voice and I love her latest album Cool Yule. I also like the album Bette Midler Sings Rosemary Clooney directed by Barry Manilow. If I was in Las Vegas I would definitely go to see her.

Bette Midler is one of the most versatile entertainers, placed historically as a singer, actress, and comedian.
Midler grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. She always had aspirations of becoming an entertainer and majored in drama at the University of Hawaii. After graduation, Midler moved to New York City to pursue her acting career. Her first professional onstage role was in Miss Nefertiti Regrets. By 1970, Midler was singing at the gay bathhouse, Continental Baths, accompanying pianist, Barry Manilow. Manilow produced her first album, The Divine Miss M.
Midler married Martin von Haselberg in December 16, 1984. The couple had one daughter, Sophie Frederica Alohilani von Haselberg in 1986. The same year she was cast in Down and Out in Beverly Hills, which starred her comedy career.
Midler's films include Scenes from a Mall, For the Boys, Hocus Pocus, The First Wives Club, and The Stepford Wives. Midler had a sitcom, Bette, that lasted about one year.
Throughout her career, Midler has won four Grammy Awards including Record of the Year in 1989 for the #1 hit "Wind Beneath My Wings." She and Manilow reunited in 2004 to record Bette Midler Sings the Rosemary Clooney Songbook, which turned out to be one of her best-selling albums of her career.
In 1995, Midler founded the New York Restoration Project, an organization to revitalize neighborhood parks in economically disadvantaged areas of New York City. Parks include Highbridge Park, Fort Washington Park, Fort Tryon Park, all of which are in upper Manhattan; Roberto Clemente State Park and Bridge Park in the Bronx. Midler opened Swindler Cove Park on the Harlem River. It offers free environmental education to impoverished students.
