David Spade is an actor, comedian, and producer known by his roles in Saturday Night Live, and his films along side Chris Farley.
He spent his childhood in Scottsdale, Arizona. His brother is Andy Spade (currently the CEO of Kate Spade, the handbag designer). After college, he was encouraged by his friends to pursue a comedy career. He became known for his sarcastic character, who include the flight attendant who says "Buh-Bye" to every passenger as they leave the plane; and the reporter who assaults celebrities. He became noticeable on Saturday Night Live when he used a photography of Eddie Murphy, whose career was falling, to quip, "Look children, a falling star." He has impersonated Michael J. Fox, Curt Cobain, and Tom Petty on Saturday Night Live.
Many of Spade's success in the film scene include work with Chris Farley. His work with our Farley has been as successful. Joe Dirt, for example is not a commercial success. In 1997, he took the role as a sarcastic receptionist on the NBC television series, Just Shoot Me, which ran until 2003. In 2003, he became a regular on the cast of ABCs 8 Simple Rules. Currently, he is the host of Comedy Central's The Showbiz Show with David Spade, where he pokes fun at celebrities. The show began in August of 2005.
