Dr. Phil sounds and acts more like a 'scam artist' or 'used car salesman' than a professional. What is more ridiculous than his shallow unintelligent advices to his guests is the constant introduction of his family into the show, especially the silly, non-achiever, greedy, attention-seeking socialite wife of his. That alone was enough to make me turn away from watching his show altogether after a few episodes.

my mom needs your help.she is on disability and cant fix up her home.i seen today whereyou helped a family.she raised us kids all by herself.she has hd her throat cleaned out cause she had pre cancer.she has copd heart trouble etc.two brothers has died in the last two yrs. fromcancer. two oters have it now. she just needs the trailer fixed up so she can at least have a nice place before she may eventualy get down to.i dont know where else to send this so will you please make sure dr phil gets this.please mom really needs help hattiepatti1@peoplepc.com or1650 west nelson st marion in 46953 thanks

Phillip McGraw is best known as Dr. Phil, the host of psychology TV-show, Dr. Phil.
Dr. Phil, Phillip Calvin McGraw, gained celebrity status following his appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1998. Oprah Winfrey was so impressed with McGraw that she had him appear on her show weekly as the "Relationship and Life Stategy Expert." In 2002 Winfrey's Harpo Studios gave him is own daily TV show, Dr. Phil. The format is an advice show where he tackles a different topic on each show -- he hosts a series of guests with troubles to whom he offers advise.
He is known for his strong Texas accent and his fame comes largly from his behavioral approach to psychology. In 2005 he signed a five-year contract extension of his syndication deal with King World Productions. They will pay McGraw $15 million to stay on the airwaves through 2014.
McGraw has published a number of self-help books that offer advise on topic such as relationships and weight loss. In 2003 he started endorsing a group of diet products called "Shape Up." In 2005, he was named in a class-action lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court claiming that he made false and misleading claims while hawking these "nutritional supplements." The FDA found that the "Shape Up" products did not work. CSA Nutraceuticals stopped making the Shape Up diet products, including shakes, bars and vitamins, in early 2004 while the Federal Trade Commission was investigating the company for false advertising. In a $10.5 million settlement reached in September 2006, users of the products are being promised small cash refunds or replacement vitamins. McGraw won't have to pay any of his ill-gotten gains for the settlement.
McGraw is married to Robin McGraw and they have two sons, Jay and Jordon.
