Dustin Hoffman has been regarded as a brilliant actor since the start of his career, and is best-known for his role as a confused man in The Graduate.
He has won the Academy Award of Best Actor for his role in Kramer vs. Kramer with Meryl Streep in 1979, and for the film Rain Man with Tom Cruise in 1988. He has earned the reputation for being a perfectionist in the film business; his honors as well as his Personality clashes with directors are evidence of his perfection.
Hoffman has shown a love for Broadway production throughout his life. In 1983 he played the role of Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman. He now has a production company of his own, Punch Productions, under which several films he starred in have been produced, including Tootsie (1982), Hero (1992), and Wag the Dog (1997).
Hoffman has been married twice. He has two children from his first marriage with Anne Byrne, and four from his second with Lisa Gottsegen.
