A Haggis in Hollywood!Ewan McGregor is a Scottish actor best known for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars episodes I, II, and III.
McGregor quit high school at 16 to pursue a career in acting. By the age of 23 he was getting attention from his roles in the Danny Boyle movies Shallow Grave (1994) and Trainspotting (1996). He also starred in Emma (1996), Velvet Goldmine the rock-drama (1998), and Black Hawk Down (2001).
McGreogr was one of many prominent actors to appear in the Star Wars prequel trilogy produced by George Lucas: Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005).
His more recent films include Down With Love (2003), and Tim Burton's Big Fish (2004).
He starred along side Jane Krakowski, Douglas Hodge, and Jenna Russell in a production of Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly Theatre in London. He received the LastMinute.com award for Best Actor in 2005.
McGregor is married to Eve Mavrakis, a French film production designer who he met while filming Kavanagh QC, a British television series. They were married in 1995 and have two daughters, Clara Mathilde and Esther Rose.
His interests include music and riding motorcycles.
