Lindsay Lohan is a teen American actress and pop singer.

Lohan is the eldest of parents Michael and Dina Lohan, who are both performers. Her family has always been well-off. Her father inherited his family's pasta business. Despite the family wealth, Lindsay attended public schools.

Her acting career began at the age of three with Ford Models, and was in print ads for Toys "R" Us. Later, she modeled for Calvin Klein Kids and Abercrombie Kids. As a teen we was in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Bliss, and Blenda. She tried out for several television commercials, and has appeared in commercials for Jell-O. Her work eventually led to soap operas; she spent the 1996-97 season with Another World as "Alli" Fowler. Her big-screne success was first scene in the 1998 film The Parent Trap.

In 1994, Lohan was selected to be the lead for two films, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and Mean Girls. She soon signed a recording contract with Casablanca Records. Her debut album, Speak, was released at the end of 2004, and reached #4 on the Billboard 200.

Lohan lost a significant amount of weight in early 2005. She admitted that she lost so much weight she nearly died. In January, 2006 she spent about two days in a Miami hospital after suffering from asthma. She admitted to using some drugs during this period, but never cocaine. In the hospital she recovered from bulimia (a swollen liver and kidney infection).

Lohan's next film, Just My Luck, is expected in theaters in May, 2006. In December, 2005, Lohan completed the filming of Bobby co-starring Elijah Wood. Chapter 27, began filming in New York on January 9, 2006.
