Matthew is actually a smart guy. He likes the general population to think of him as less intelligent than he really is. He is also incredibly kind. He gets a good laugh from "the shock effect".

Matthew McConaughey is an actor best-known for his roles in A Time to Kill, The Wedding Planner, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
McConaughey is the youngest of three children and grew up in a Christian household. His father was a businessman who ran a Texaco gas station, worked as a truck driver, and played professional football. His mother was a substitute schoolteacher. After McConaughey graduated from high school in 1988, he lived in Australia. He soon moved back to the United States to study film directing.
McConaughey began his career by working in television commercials; his first minor role was in Dazed and Confused. He then appeared in Angels in the Outfield, and Texas Chain saw Massacre: The Next Genertation, and the television series Unsolved Mysteries. McConaughey first became known through 1996 film, A Time to Kill, which was based upon the novel by John Grisham. After he became well-known he was cast into leading roles including Contact, and Amistad. In the 2000, he found a niche in romantic comedies, The Wedding Planner and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. His most recent film is Sahara.
McCanaughey was named "Sexiest Man Alive" by 2005 People Magazine.
In October 1999, he was arrested for the possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. According to police reports, McConaughey was found dancing naked while playing bongo drums with friend, Cole Hauser. The drug charges were dropped, but he pled guilty for violating a noise ordinance because a neighbor had complained of loud music.
McConaughey is currently in a relationship with Penelope Cruz.
