Lawyer On the Green Party Ticket
Ralph Nader is a lawyer who is concerned with the environment, consumer rights, and democracy. For decades he has worked to fight large corporations and is a critic of the Bush administration and American foreign policy. He has recently been on the Green Party ticket fot the 1996 and 2000 elections. However, in the 2004 election he ran as an independent candidate.
After graduating from Harvard Law School, he served the United States Army for six months and then began working as a lawyer in Hartford. From 1961 until 1963 he worked as a government and history professor at the University of Hartford. He has also done freelance writing for The Nation, Christian Science Monitor, and currently writes for The Progressive Populist.
Nader has never been married. He lives in a townhouse in the Georgetown section of Washington, DC, which is kept in his sister's name. His attention is focused on the work of public interest crusades; most of his lifetime earnings have gone to support these causes.
